Coat Types For Teddybear  Labradoodles

  • Hair Coat - Shorter/ Wavy / Shaggy

The Straighter Coat as in the type of coat that the Dog in the picture to the left has, is straighter and not quite as full as the other coat types. Of the 3 Coat types, although lower shedding than an English Labrador Retriever, the Straighter coat is the most likely to shed. Shedding can be light to moderate, but still considerably less than their Labrador Retriever parent.

  • Wavy Fleecy Coat - Silky light texture with cottony undercoat(Good for Allergy sufferers)

The Loose Wavy Coat as in the type of coat that the pup to the right has, the coat possesses a good bit of body and is full, but not quite as full as the Curly coat. Dogs with this coat type can come in any generation including F1, F1b, F2, F2b and Multigen. This coat has a shaggy, tausled look and is very sought after by many people searching for an English Labradoodle as this coat type and the Curlier coats create more of a Teddybear Appearance.

  • Wool Coat - Curls of varying lengths Good for Allergy sufferers)

The Curlier Coat as in the type of coat that the pup to the left has, it possesses a good bit of body, Curl and a fleecy / fuzzy undercoat which gives the coat a fuller look. Dogs with this coat type can come in most generations that contain more poodle in the mix such as F1b, F2b and Multigens.. This coat is curly, similar to that of the poodle, but ideally with the square teddybear influence from the English Labrador Retriever. The curly coat with the fleecy undercoat is most likely to be completely non-shedding and is therefore enticing to those with Pet allergies.

Grooming Your TeddyBear Labradoodle

English Teddybear Labradoodles are considered to be non to light

shedders and may be a good match for people with allergies. They do

require weekly or bi-weekly brushing, and many owners opt to have them

 clipped during the Summer months.

The rendering to the right is a good guide to use when grooming your doodle or having him or her groomed professionally.
